Round Doodle Totem Pole

Doodle 111 Title: Round Totem Pole

Starting with a simple outline drawing of the hand on upper left side and worked my way around. As most doodles, this one took about 30 minutes and included an octopus-like shapes. Surprisingly, no tentacles or leaves. As I stepped back I realized this Doodle of the Day had an American Indian, totem pole, perhaps Alaskan quality to it even though it didn’t contain the normal animal symbols. I think it was the thick black shapes and rounded ridge patterns.

This is one of my favorites only because it moves away from my usual style. I also have a  fascination with producing art that I feel I could not replicate or duplicate again. It’s a kind of shallow “out of body” experience.
