As one of the choices for (unnamed) online portfolio, I came upon this German scientist, philosopher, and artist (a renaissance man of sorts). I actually didn’t run into him: he’s dead. But I read his biography. He was an awesome human being who died in 1919.

They say people who utilize both sides of their brain are rare. I don’t believe that. Here’s a man who studied nature, plants, and animals. He wrote, doodled, and created some of the most amazing illustrations I’ve ever seen. I love his style: clean and simple—letting the designs and details of nature be the heroes of the images. There are many people who use both sides of their brain and some are recognized for their thoughtfulness and intellect before they die.

I not so much want to emulate his style, as I’d rather study like him and appreciate the intricacies of this bizarre beautiful world.
